Are financing options available if you cannot pay for dental treatment up front?
Yes, if you need dental treatment but don't have the funds available to cover the entire cost, financing options are available. We work with multiple financing platforms here at our office. Our goal is to help you find a way to move forward with the dental care you need.
Do you have to pay for dental treatment up front if you use financing?
Not necessarily. Depending on the financing program and what you qualify for, you may be able to spread the cost of treatment over time rather than paying the full amount up front.
Some financing options require a down payment, while others may not. We also work with programs that offer promotional zero-interest financing to qualifying patients.
What dental financing options are available?
We offer several dental financing options, including CareCredit and Cherry Financing.
CareCredit is a well-known healthcare financing provider, and Cherry offers payment plans that may include promotional zero-interest options for qualified applicants.
In certain cases, we may also be able to discuss other payment arrangements. We'll review the available options with you and help you determine what works for your situation.
Does dental financing require a credit check?
It depends on the financing provider. CareCredit may require a hard credit inquiry when you apply for a new account.
Cherry typically allows you to check your eligibility through a soft credit inquiry that doesn't affect your credit score. However, additional credit reporting or inquiries may depend on the financing agreement.
We often start by reviewing options that allow you to check your eligibility without affecting your credit score. If you already have CareCredit, we can also discuss using your existing available credit toward treatment.
Does dental insurance cover the cost of treatment?
Dental insurance works differently from most medical insurance plans. Many dental plans have annual benefit maximums, which limit how much the insurance company will contribute toward covered treatment each year.
For some plans, that maximum may be around $2,000 or $3,000, although the amount varies depending on your coverage.
Dental insurance can be helpful for routine cleanings, preventive care, and certain basic procedures. However, more extensive treatments, such as dental implants or cosmetic procedures, may have limited coverage or may not be covered at all.
That's why I encourage patients to think of dental insurance as something that helps with the cost rather than something that necessarily pays for the entire treatment.
We don't want you to delay necessary care simply because your insurance doesn't cover everything. Sometimes waiting can allow dental problems to progress and become more complicated or expensive to treat.
Our team will help you understand your benefits, review what your insurance may cover, and explore payment options for any remaining costs.
Can your dental office help you find financing for treatment?
Absolutely. We work with multiple financing partners because we understand that dental treatment can be expensive.
Many of our patients choose to pay for treatment through monthly payments rather than covering the entire cost at once.
In some situations, our office may also help cover financing interest costs, allowing qualifying patients to make payments over one or two years without additional interest.
We'll discuss the available arrangements and help you understand the payment terms before moving forward.
How can you get started with dental financing?
The first step is to schedule a free consultation with our office. We need to evaluate your dental needs and determine what treatment is recommended before discussing the associated costs.
Once we have a treatment plan, we'll review the financing options available to you and help you understand how you may be able to spread the cost over time.
